Whale Adoption - Save A Whale
Whale adoption can help save the life of a whale. There are whale conservation programs around the world and there are two US organizations that make the process of adopting a whale accessible via the Internet. Your donation money helps to pay for conservation and research that is critical to the survival of each of these centers.
Whale Center of New England at www.whalecenter.org has been in existence for more than twenty years. They are a leader in conservation, whale research, and education. They reach out to the public through educational school programs for all grade levels along with internship opportunities. They also have whale watches for the community and they provide whale adoption packages as their primary adoption program.
For $45 a whale adoption can be procured. You’ll receive an 8″ x 10″ color photo of your whale, a biography of your whale, a certificate of your whale adoption, a whale adoption button, a CD of whale calls, The Whale Watchers Companion Guide and FLUKEPRINTS their newsletter. Online at www.whalecenter.org you can check out the specific whale adoption procedures, view the whales that are up for adoption and their most recent sightings.
Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS) at www.whales.org is a global non-profit organization located in the US dedicated to protecting and conserving whales, dolphins and their natural habitats. They have a research driven commitment with a reliable motivated support base. They have a whale adoption service costing $30 for the standard kit and $55 for the deluxe kit. The standard kit provides a whale adoption certificate, a whale poster that shows the whale migration route, a WDCS window decal and a newsletter. The deluxe adoption kit provides the standard kit items plus a whale DVD and their special Whalewatch Newsletter.
You now have two great sites to visit to learn about adopting a whale. Your adoption contributes to the continued research and conservation of whales and helps research biologists purchase materials needed in their research and conservation efforts. Take a look at www.whalecenter.org and www.whales.org to get more information on how you can help researchers in their valiant efforts to save this majestical creature.
